STEM Program

What is STEM?  It stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.  The ultimate goal of STEM education is to encourage students to take an interest in STEM subjects at an early age.   What separates STEM from the traditional science and math education is the blended learning environment and showing students how the scientific method can be applied to everyday life. It teaches students computational thinking and focuses on the real world applications of problem solving.

We will hold sessions two times a week. The sessions will run from 4:30-5:30 on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. We will meet at the Y and Grimes Park. Near the end of the program, the participants will run in a 5K race to demonstrate the endurance they have gained. Program fees are $75 for Y members and $95 for non-members.

Boys will develop strength of character by participating in interactive and comfortable discussion groups with our trained coaches.
